Steve Rothery is guitar player with the band Marillion. He was born in Brampton, Yorkshire, England on 25 November 1959.

He joined Marillion in 1979, as part of the original lineup, and has remained with them since then. As well as work with Marillion, he has released one solo album, The Wishing Tree.

Rothery is regarded by many fans of the band as providing their defining sound. His style of playing is heavily influenced by that of Pink Floyd's David Gilmour.
