Also, if possible, it would be great to go through some other books e.g. on The Beatles or alternative texts on McCartney and "double cite" as appropriate, or note any discrepancies. Then the article will be as solid as a rock.

Sections and general tasks
  • Copyedit for flow, quality of prose, wikilinks (preferably with the help of a good editor who hasn't worked on the article); do an AWB cleanup (wikify dates, rm redundant repeated wikilinks); act on/remove any remaining HTML comments. At the end, some refs might be convertible to "passim". Also, if possible, it would be great to go through some other books e.g. on The Beatles or alternative texts on McCartney and "double cite" as appropriate, or note any discrepancies. Then the article will be as solid as a rock.
  • Songwriting and musicianship: We have the background info, but do we need more from later years and more commentary on styles, influences etc.?
  • Sections:
    • What happened to the text on the Ram/Imagine episode? I thought I'd put some in?
    • Paul_McCartney#1990s: Stub section. "Theme" of decade? Declining sales?
    • 2000s: "Theme" of decade? Critical rejuvenation on the back of successful tours?
    • Paul_McCartney#Lifestyle: Intro possibly a bit longer
    • Paul_McCartney#Discography: Perhaps needs a paragraph of prose? Needs formatting.
  • Images needed/wanted: Free or appropriate fair use images of Jane Asher, Linda McCartney, Heather Mills McCartney. (The image of George Harrison might have to be replaced too).
  • Wings and solo samples needed.
  • How about an equipment section, including photos and documents regarding his use of the Hofner, Rickenbacker & (later on) Wal 5-string basses? Also, what model is the Gibson Firebird on the cover of Ram. Current and favorite equipment.
  • Paul as drummer, was drummer on "Ram" album. Was Paul drummer on Beatles albums?
  • 'Keen football fan' - hardly. None of the Beatles were big football fans. Macca has suggested he's a fan of both Liverpool and Everton, but this is more local diplomacy rather than a genuine enthusiasm for the game. Sentence needs removing.
  • ABOVE LIST NEEDS TO BE CHECKED AND COMPLETED ITEMS REMOVED
Specific issues - citations, troublesome sentences, etc.
  • Number of concerts: "McCartney has played 2,523 gigs with The Beatles, 140 with Wings, and 325 as a solo artist." The Beatles toured from 1960-1966. 2523/6 = 420.5 concerts per year. Impossible. I also find it very hard to believe that Paul has only played 465 concerts since the Beatles broke up. I know these figures are from a BBC news page, but they are clearly wrong. (The number of gigs with the Beatles would include the ones with the Quarrymen and the gigs they played in Hamburg and around the Liverpool area - often they would do 3 concerts a day - see The Complete Beatles Chronicle by Mark Lewisohn.)
(note: the 2,523 gigs number may include multiple gigs on the same day. -Middle 8 (talk) 23:17, 11 August 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Paul McCartney as drummer

I added small sentence in to do list because no mention of Paul's drumming.I know it's not as well known as playing bass,piano,singing/songwriting,etc etc.I was surprised it wasn't mentioned.Maybe I missed it!Hope this is worth following up,true fans will know many tracks where Paul was the drummer. Paul also contributed vocals to Godley &Creme album.Ern Malleyscrub (talk) 14:18, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Paul's drumming is not notable IMHO.

List of accomplishments

Why is the first page a list of his records? Records covered at length below.
