Though claiming to encourage cycling in the park, some of their members to have a hidden agenda of discussing "the disruption caused by road cyclists" "particulary at weekends" despite cycling being good for the park in reducing polluting motor vehicles who's some drivers actively cause problems for cyclists in the park, with a lot of aggressive behaviour.

The Friends of Richmond Park (FRP), a charity since 2009,[1] is a membership organisation in the United Kingdom that seeks to protect Richmond Park's peace and natural beauty for future generations. It celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2011.[1][2]

Organisation

FRP is run by volunteers and has no staff. The current chair is Ron Crompton.[1][3]

Patrons

Broadcaster and naturalist Sir David Attenborough, former Richmond Park MP Baroness Susan Kramer and children’s author Dame Jacqueline Wilson are patrons of FRP.

Campaigns and activities

The Friends run an information point at Richmond Park, outside Pembroke Lodge.[4] The Friends also organise a programme of walks and have published two books, A Guide to Richmond Park[5]and Family Trails in Richmond Park.[6]
