Tina Williams Brewer is an internationally-known quilting artist, recognized for story quilts that explore African American history from a personal perspective. Based in Pittsburgh, PA, Brewer has served on the boards of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. She is a member of Fiber Arts Guild of Pittsburgh, and the Women of Visions organization. She has been a long-time participant residency programs of Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and Society for Contemporary Craft in Pittsburgh Brewer was born in Huntington, West Virginia, and graduated from Columbus College of Art and Design.
