Whispy Woods is a character in the Kirby series of video games. It first appears as the first boss in Kirby's Dream Land (1992), and has appeared in most Kirby games since.

Concept and creation[edit]

Whispy Woods was created for Kirby's Dream Land as its first boss. To save memory, Sakurai added eyes and mouth to a background tree design. The eyes and mouth were made by drawing a dark triangle, mirroring it horizontally, creating an oval that was duplicated twice.^[1]^[2]
