Ave, L.S. ! (two Latin greetings to the reader, one authentical in Roman life, the second still common in modern writings)

FASTIFEX is an artificial Latin name, as far as I know, though it could have existed in ancient Rome.

It consists of fasti and the common suffix -fax, from facere 'to make', hence in this case : "He who produces (i.e. writes, or in Wiki-jargon contributes) fasti", which is a way to express I am a historian -as it happens from Flanders- with a broader interest in various matters worth recording. Just as the ancient fasti, I have a special interest in institutional matters, secular and religious, past and present, close to home and faraway - just as I feel an encyclopaedian should be, ideally.
