There is, and for many years has been, overwhelming evidence that ITN is severely and indefensibly biased against the United States.

The only discretionary article about an event in the United States posted to ITN in 2024 is the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse. Note that by "discretionary", I am excluding nominations that are automatically deemed worthy of posting so long as the article's quality is sufficiently high, as required in Wikipedia:ITNQUALITY. Therefore, "discretionary" ITN nominations consist of those that are not listed on WP:ITNR and are not WP:ITNRD nominations. This is because anything listed on ITNR is automatically considered notable enough for posting, and any living person (or even animal or plant) that dies and is notable enough for an article on Wikipedia is considered worthy of posting in the "Recent Deaths" (RD) section of ITN.
