Yeah, *that* page is problematic, and I've already told him to do something about it. However, you should have picked up the phone and called him first (he's apparently in your base directory), or at least blanked the relevant page and said something. Blanking out his userpage is not the appropriate solution, and your attitude does not fly here. I understand OPSEC concerns, but a lot of others will not. I agree, but can we at least agree that someone in the Marines for 6 years should know that his page is a violation of OPSEC?

I don't care not even my account. I know Bunns from when he was in Okinawa, I was in Iraq until my unit rotated this past summer. He checks wiipedia pretty often so he will get a kick out of me messing with his page. As for the guy who's page I messed with, sorry don't take it personally. If you want to know bunns password you just need to know his daughters name and her birthdate. So long suckers.

:I'm not going to go into that, but you need to revert that (it's a [[WP:NPA|personal attack]]). If you reword that, and agree to modify your behavior to meet Wikipedia community norms, I will unblock you. Request reason:

the user's page who I edited is in violation of Marine Corps policy. He has entirely too much personal information on his page and it is a serious violation of operational security. That is why I only removed the personal data he had on his page. I am trying to keep this Marine out of trouble and keep him from losing rank. If he does not remove the personal data about himself and his deployment to Iraq, I will be forced to report him to higher authorities and have WIKIPEDIA blocked from all Marine Corps computers.

Decline reason:

Any issues regarding the U.S. military are not Wikipedia's concern. We are an international project (I am not an American) and do not care about U.S. military operational security. That is the U.S. military's own responsibility. If you believe any edits by other users violate U.S. military rules, please resolve this with the user directly or with his military superiors. What we at Wikipedia care about is that people do not disrupt our encyclopedia by blanking other people's user pages.  Sandstein  11:36, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

If you read further through his page he mentions dates and specific locations in Iraq. Major operational risk. Perhaps you don't care about the other service members in Iraq but I do. You can see what I am refering to right here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Bahamut0013/bio Bunns USMC (talk) 11:16, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that my edits were hotheaded and I should have left him a message and gave him the oppertunity to change his page before I blanked it. I just get a little concerned when I see blatant security violations. I will handle situations like this better in the future. Bunns USMC (talk)

Let me have a brief chat with the blocking admin, and I should be able to unblock you.

OK, the unblocking admin has no problem with an unblock if you agree not to do the same thing. Go ahead and request an unblock. Horologium (talk) 11:57, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
