Poor Sourcing in Vitalogy Article

You reinserted multiple inaccurate sources which did not contain the information they are purported to claim in the Vitalogy article. The inaccuracies of these sources were already outlined on the Talk page, which you ignored. For example, you reinserted a source — this article — and claimed the source stated Eddie Vedder wrote the music to the song "Bugs." The article does not even mention the song "Bugs." The citation is therefore baseless.

Please familiarize yourself with Wikpedia's policy of verifiability. When you put information in a Wiki, people should be able to "check that the information comes from a reliable source." Upon checking the sources you reinserted, they do not contain the information you purported they contain. Therefore, they do not meet the threshold for reliability.

Furthermore, in a note with your edit you stated that you inserted information on the basis of your personal views. "I don't particularly care if that person didn't like how the tracks were laid out." Your personal opinion does not dictate the content of Wikipedia. Please review and familiarize yourself with the Five Pillars, which state that "Wikipedia is written from a neutral point of view."

You also stated these sources remained in the Wiki "for years." The length of time that information remains in a Wiki has no bearing on whether it meets Wikipedia standards. If incorrect or unsubstantiated information is in a Wiki for five minutes or five years, it is still incorrect or unsubstantiated.

Please do not reinsert inaccurate sourcing in the article again. You can discuss the sources, none of which contain the information the citations which you reinserted claimed they do, on the Talk page. Icanttalkaboutit (talk) 06:00, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
