Nothing444[edit]
Nothing444 (talk · contribs) I want to be on the Mediation Comittee because I want to help wikipedia by solving problems.
Questions from Committee members:
- What are the core principles of Mediation Committee mediation?
- The core is explicitly to try to resolve disputes, especially those involving content, to the mutual satisfaction of all.
- Discussions during formal mediation are privileged; they cannot be used against the parties in later proceedings (e.g. RfArb/RfC). Why is that important?
- Well, that seems to be violating WP:NOTAGAIN. This is important because it just wastes time, and violates a policy.
- What prior experience do you have in resolving disputes on Wikipedia? Please provide links, and how will these experiences help you to be an effective Committee member?
- Well, whenever I thought someone was trying to do harm, I always keep a cool head (e.g. MBisanz, Nick, Metros) , but I hope they all feel better.
Mediation Committee:
- Oppose, the block log, lack of experience with Wikipedia, and no experience with dispute resolution. Daniel (talk) 11:22, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Oppose, as a two-pronged argument. Firstly, it is my opinion that you have insufficient experience in the field of both dispute resolution and of mediation. I am not seeing any prior experience with the mediation cabal or informal, "off-the-cuff" mediating; no participation in dispute-cooling, or any other activity that I'd hope to see in a potential mediator. Mediating formally is not a breeze, and it's not something any editor can walk into, unfortunately. Simply put, I do not think you are experienced enough to be a mediator. Secondly, your temperament and approach to editing is not suitable for mediation on a formal basis at this time, I regret to say. To pick but one example, the embedded message on your userpage does not strike me as the sort of comment that a mediator would make; rather, it seems to be somewhat inconsiderate of others, generally rude and not conductive of the attitude I'd expect. Further to that, your block log shows some serious behavioural problems, and suggests to me that you are not suitable to be a mediator. Further to my observations, I've no choice but to oppose.
