"(Hurt Me, Hurt Me) But the Pants Stay On" is a pop rock song by British singer Samantha Fox. The song was written and composed by Doctor Ice, and produced by Full Force. It was released as the lead single from her fourth studio albumJust One Night (1991). The single's B-side, "Hot Lovin'," was not included on Just One Night. The song reached lower regions of the charts in central Europe, but it failed to chart in either the United States or the United Kingdom.
There was an Oriental-themed video produced for the song, in which Jennifer Lopez was one of Fox’s dancers.
The title of the selection is actually an exhortation to disk jockeys to "pump up the bass" (increase the volume or gain of the bass, or lower frequencies) in the vernacular of British dance clubs.
