The 12.7x55mm cartridge is a Russian-made .50 caliber cartridge used in both pistols and rifles (although one of each has been made so far). It was developed without a parent case, and as such, was made from scratch.

Purpose

It is intended as an armor-piercing hangun/rifle cartridge. It comes in jacket soft point, hollow point and full metal jacket variants.
