Season 1881–82 was the ninth Scottish football season in which Kilmarnock competed at a national level, entering the inaugural Scottish Cup.

Overview

Kilmarnock entered the inaugural Scottish Cup, they won the first round 6-0 against Largs Athletic. They then won 7-1 against Auchinleck to go through to the third round. Kilmarnock then won 2-0 against Kilbirnie to go through to the fourth round for the first time. They progressed even further after beating Our Boys 9-2. In the fifth round they lost 4-1 to Arthurlie.
