Season 1932–33 was the 56th Scottish football season in which Dumbarton competed at national level, entering the Scottish Football League for the 34th time and the Scottish Cup for the 45th time.

Overview

Dumbarton climbed back into the top half of the league by finishing 9th, out of 18, in the Second Division with 34 points – 20 behind champions Hibernian. Although there is no doubt that the campaign was handicapped by Dumbarton's inability to register a single win away from Boghead.[1] Note that during the season both Armadale and Bo'ness resigned from the league and their records expunged.

In the Scottish Cup, Dumbarton reached the second round before losing out to Albion Rovers.

Locally, Dumbarton retained the Dumbartonshire Cup, beating Vale Ocaba in the final.

Elsewhere a friendly match was played against local junior side, Dumbarton Harp United.
