1985–86 Southern Football League

The 1985–86 Southern Football League season saw Welling United win the Premier Division and earn promotion to the Football Conference, whilst RS Southampton and Oldbury United left the league at the end of the season.[1]

The Premier Division featured five new clubs:

  • Worcester City (relegated from the Alliance Premier League)
  • Basingstoke Town (promoted from the Southern Division)
  • Aylesbury United (promoted from the Midland Division)
  • Dudley Town (promoted from the Midland Division)
  • Gosport Borough (promoted from the Southern Division)
