The 2000–01 Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball team represents Iowa State University in the 2000–01 college basketball season. The team was led by third-year head coach Larry Eustachy. In 1999–2000, the Cyclones finished 32–5 (14–2 in the Big 12 Conference). The captains were Paul Shirley, Jamaal Tinsley, and Kantrail Horton.
Pre-season
Jamaal Tinsley was named the Big 12 Conference Preseason Player of the Year, as well as to the Preseason All-Big 12 Conference First Team. Iowa State was picked to finish fourth in the Big 12 Conference by the coaches.[2] Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team or players.
