3 Civic Tower is a mixed-use complex located in Surrey, British Columbia. At 164 m (538 ft) tall it is by far the tallest building in Surrey and overtook the fourteen year rival Central City Mall. It will consist of residences, a hotel (Marriott hotel)[3], offices and retails on the main floor.[4] Its completion will take place during 2018, alongside service facilities and higher education. Strategically located near the Surrey City Hall, 3 Civic Plaza has been touted as the focal center and the anchoring tower of the Whalley area.[5] A nearby proposed tower at 191 m (625 ft)[6], once completed will see 3 Civic tower becoming the second tallest in Surrey by 2021.[citation needed]
Pre-development
Prior to its announcement, Surrey's previous mayor announced on a new project that would shape surreys long term infrastructure. The plan included the building of Apartment towers and large-scale developments in a municipality without much space to expand upon it's growing neighbors.
