Rachel Wood (geologist)

Rachel Wood is a geologist and professor of carbonate geoscience at the University of Edinburgh School of GeoSciences.[1] She is also co-director of the International Centre for Carbonate Reservoirs.[2]

Her research covers reef ecology, the evolution of reef systems, reef building and carbonate production.[3] She is on the council of the Edinburgh Geological Society[4] and a member of the Natural Environment Research Council Ion Microprobe Facility Steering Committee [5]

She is the author of Reef Evolution by Oxford University Press (1999)[6][7][8]

She is an Associate Editor of the journal Petroleum Geoscience [9]
