The 2021 Caribbean Club Shield will be the fourth edition of the Caribbean Club Shield (also known as the CFU Club Shield), the second-tier annual international club football competition in the Caribbean region, held amongst clubs whose football associations are affiliated with the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), a sub-confederation of CONCACAF.
The winners of the 2021 CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield, as long as they fulfill the CONCACAF Regional Club Licensing criteria, will play against the fourth place team of the 2021 CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championship in a playoff match to determine the final Caribbean spot to the 2021 CONCACAF League.[1]
Robinhood, having won the title in 2019, are the title holders, since the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the title was not awarded.[2]
Teams
NOTE: The following information is based on the new format of the CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championship and CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield starting from 2018, and is subject to change by CONCACAF and CFU. The associations are listed based on their classification (Championship or Shield) for the most recent season.[3] They may enter a different tier competition based on their classification for 2021. The list of participating teams will be confirmed by CONCACAF and CFU by late 2020/early 2021. |
Among the 31 CFU member associations, 27 of them were classified as non-professional leagues and each may enter one team in the CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield.
