The Grand Genève (Greater Geneva in English) is an agglomeration of 209 communes stretching part of Switzerland (canton of Geneva, the district of Nyon) and France (parts of Haute-Savoie and Ain) around the city of Geneva.[1] It has 946,000 inhabitants (2015).[2][3]

The transborder agglomeration originally comprised 212 French communes and Swiss municipalities. The communes located in France have formed their own intercommunal structures,[4] such as:
