Batang Hari is a regency of Jambi Province in Sumatra, Indonesia. It had a population of 241,334 at the 2010 Census;[1] the latest official estimate (as at January 2014) was 266,323. It covers an area of 5,804 km².

Administrative districts

The Regency is split administratively into eight districts (kecamatan), listed below with their populations at the 2010 Census.[2]

  • Bajubang (35,249)
  • Batin XXIV (25,423)
  • Maro Sebo Ilir (12,946)
  • Maro Sebo Ulu (29,305)
  • Mersam (26,396)
  • Muara Bulian (55,132)
  • Muara Tembesi (27,233)
  • Pemayung (29,650)

The districts are composed of 124 administrative villages (rural desa and urban keluraham)
