Levi Shemtov is the Executive Vice President of American Friends of Lubavitch in Washington D.C.,[1] Founder and President of the Capitol Jewish Forum, a group providing outreach to "Jewish men and women working on Capitol Hill and in the government arena"[2] and serves on the board of the Rabbinical Council (Vaad) of Greater Washington.[3] Shemtov is the Senior Shliach in Washington D.C,[4] where he established TheSHUL.

His affiliation is bipartisan,[5][6][7] and he maintains close relationships with numerous members of the United States Congress, senior Administration officials and leaders in the international community, including a number of heads of state and government.[8][9]

He organizes several Jewish programs in the District, most notably the annual lighting ceremony of the National Menorah in Lafayette Square.[10] He has overseen the koshering of the White House for the celebration of Jewish American Heritage Month and Channukah in the administrations of George W. Bush , Barack Obama and Donald Trump.[11][12]
