Peter Karim Ben Embarek is a Danish scientist and Programme Manager at World Health Organization specialising in food safety and zoonoses.

Early life and education

Ben Embarek graduated with a PhD from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen.

Career

Ben Embarek is considered an expert on zoonotic diseases.[1] On 2 December 2020, Ben Embarek was appointed Mission Head of the 13 member team of the World Health Organization's investigation into the origins of COVID-19.[2]
