Bashkim Ajdini (born 10 December 1992), previously known as Bashkim Renneke until 2019, is a professional footballer who plays as a right midfielder or right-back for VfL Osnabrück.[1][2] Born in Sweden, Ajdini was born to Albanian refugees, and grew up in Germany.

Career

Ajdini was born in Halmstad, Sweden, where his parents had emigrated to escape the tension in the Balkans at the time, and they later settled in Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock, Germany. His family was then deported back to Kosovo in August 2003 but he returned to Germany a year later after he was adopted into a German family living in Hövelriege and took their last name Renneke instead of his original last name Ajdini.[3]

In March 2019, he re-took his birth name "Ajdini".[4][5]
