Uokha is a town in Owan East,[1] a local government area of Edo state, Nigeria.It is located about 123km northwest of Benin city. And it has a population of approximately 10,000 inhabitants.[2]

Uokha is believed to be founded by Prince Odion a prince and heir to the Benin Kingdom.[3]

The present day people are predominantly farmers, and are known to grow food crops such as yams, cassava, and cash crops like cocoa, bananas, plantain, cashews etc.

Uokha is a peaceful town with polite happy citizens who share a communal bond prevalent in most African societies, the inhabitants of the town are predominantly Christians.
