The Elphin Sports Centre is an indoor sporting venue located in Launceston, Tasmania. Construction commenced at the centre in 1964 and was opened in September the following year. When Launceston earned a place in the National Basketball League in 1980, the centre was used as the team's base. A crowd of 1,100 watched Launceston City Casino defeat the Coburg Giants in their opening match. The venue was used for a single match in the FIBA Oceania Championship 2003, when the Australians played New Zealand.[1]
