American college football season
The 1988 Indiana Hoosiers football team represented Indiana University in the 1988 NCAA Division I-A football season . Playing as a member of the Big Ten Conference (Big Ten), the team was led by head coach Bill Mallory , in his fifth year, and played their home games at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana . They finished the season with a record of eight wins, three losses and one tie (8–3–1 overall, 5–3 in the Big Ten) and with a victory over South Carolina in the Liberty Bowl .
