Trachylepis buettneri is a species of skink, a lizard in the family Scincidae. The species is native to Central Africa and West Africa.
Etymology
[edit]The specific name, buettneri, is in honor of German botanist Oskar Alexander Richard Büttner.[3]
Geographic range
[edit]T. buettneri is found in Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, and Togo.[2]
Habitat
[edit]The preferred natural habitat of T. buettneri is savanna.[1]
Description
[edit]T. buettneri has a very long tail. The tail length may be four times the snout-to-vent length (SVL).[2]
