Bangladesh Railway wanted to start a commuter train service so that the working people of Narayanganj can travel to and from Dhaka in less time. As planned, prime minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Narayanganj Commuter at Kamalapur railway station on 24 April 2023.[1][2] The train service was suspended on 4 December 2022 for work on the Dhaka–Jessore line and resumed on 1 August 2023 after work on the Dhaka section.[3]

Service

The train had two CRRC Tangshan DEMU rakes. It consisted of three coaches.[2] Now it have one BR rake.[4]
