Brigiding "Gigi" Aricheta,[1] or simply Brididing, is the stage name of John Philip Aricheta,[2] a Filipino drag performer who competed on season 1 of Drag Race Philippines.[3] She also founded the drag contest called Drag Playhouse PH.[4][5]

Career

Drag performer Brigiding competed on season 1 of Drag Race Philippines. Her impersonation of Elizabeth Ramsey for the Snatch Game challenged placed her in the bottom two. She lost a lip sync against Minty Fresh to "Amakabogera" by Maymay Entrata, but was allowed to remain in the competition.[6] Brigiding placed sixth overall.[7]

Since the show, she has performed with her fellow contestants Precious Paula Nicole and Viñas Deluxe as the Divine Divas.[8] The trio also appeared in a 2023 episode of Drag You and Me, as contestants in the Manila Drag Supreme contest.[9] In 2022, Brigiding performed alongside fellow contestants Corazon and Turing at Kroma Entertainment's first in-person event, Kroma Overload.[10] Brigiding represented the Philippines in a Nivea campaign in 2023.[11]

Personal life

Brigiding is from Mandaluyong,[4] Metro Manila.[12] She is queer and uses the pronouns he/him out of drag and she/her in drag.[13] She is the "drag daughter" of DeeDee Marié Holliday, a contestant on season 2 of Drag Race Philippines.[14]
