Cathedral of St. John the Baptist

The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Washington, D.C. is a church of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia. The parish was founded in 1949 by Archbishop John Maximovich, while the church building was completed in 1958. For the first nine years, the congregation met for Divine Liturgy every Sunday in the Resurrection Chapel of the National Cathedral.[1]
