Björn Stenvers GCC KCM (born 25 May 1972, in Arnhem) is the CEO of the Eye Care Foundation.[1][2] Before he was CEO at the Fonds de dotation de l’ICOM (of the International Council of Museums).[3][4][5][6][7] He was the director of the foundation of the Official Museums of Amsterdam (2013-2016) which he also founded.[8] Björn was the only Dutch lecturer at RANEPA (2015-2022).[9][10]

In 2017 Stenvers founded the Altai Museum Academy,[11][12][13] the Moscow Zoo Academy,[14][15][16][17] the Aruba Museum Academy,[18][19] in 2015 the Amsterdam Museum Academy,[20][21][22][23][24] and in 2014 Rostov Kremlin Museum Academy,[25][26][27] for museum staff trainings.
He holds a number of board positions; chair of the People's University of Amsterdam,[28] chair of the Nepal Federation Netherlands (NFN),[29][30] ICOM Europe,[31] the Amsterdam Light Festival[32] and trustee of the World Heritage Site of Brest Fortress.[33] He has several degrees in Art History, Marketing and Management. Stenvers is married to singer Tamara Hoekwater. He is the great-grandchild of the Austrian composer Franz R. Friedl.
