Conus scalarissimus is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Conidae, the cone snails and their allies.[1]
Like all species within the genus Conus, these marine snails are predatory and venomous. They are capable of "stinging" humans, so live ones should be handled carefully, or not at all.
Description
[edit]The size of an adult shell varies between 30 mm and 60 mm.
Distribution
[edit]This species occurs in the Pacific Ocean between the Gulf of California, Western Mexico, and Peru
