Massarah, also spelled Maasarah or Masarah (Arabic: المعصرة), is a city in Helwan, Egypt.

Overview

With a population of about 30,000 inhabitants, Massarah is the biggest city in Helwan. The town lies on the bank of the Nile river, and is a southern suburb of Cairo.

Local industries include a phone company and cement making. The area also has hot sulphur springs.
