Lazzeroni cartridges are a range of extremely powerful proprietary magnum sporting rifle cartridges developed and manufactured since the early 1990s by US hunting enthusiast John Lazzeroni. All cartridges in the Lazzeroni family are distinguished by their high operating pressures, and the very high bullet muzzle velocities and bullet energies they produce.[1]

To handle these specialised cartridges, Lazzeroni developed a specially designed range of sporting rifles, each costing around US$5,000 new, and using a combination of stainless steel (for barrels and actions) and fibreglass (for the rifle stocks). To produce very high bullet velocities, these relatively lightweight and very distinctively streamlined rifles have long (typically 26in) barrels.
