The main road in the village

Polkovnik Zhelyazovo (Bulgarian: Полковник Желязово, Turkish: Kıylakü) is a village in Krumovgrad municipality, Kardzhali Province, located in the Eastern Rhodope Mountains of southern Bulgaria.

As of September 2005 it has a population of 1,552 (mainly ethnic Turks) and the mayor is Mustafa Hasan.[citation needed] The village lies at 282 m above sea level.
