Operation Greif was a supplement to the Avalon Hill board game Battle of the Bulge. It added new rules and provided a colorful set of unit counters, uncut and printed on thin cardstock, which were to be used with the original map. Don Lowry designed the supplement and sold it through his mail order business Lowry's Hobbies. In 1970 copies were sold at a large discount to the International Federation of Wargamers, which included them as a free bonus in its magazine The International Wargamer. Several years later Lowry published a new version with better looking but still uncut counters.
