Ntuusi is the location of the headquarters of Ntuusi sub-county in Lwemiyaga County, Sembabule District.[5] The modern-day settlement of Ntuusi is inside the Ntuusi Archelogical Site, an area measuring approximately 100 hectares (247 acres), that was continuously settled by humans during the period 1,000AD and 1,500AD. This area, also known as Bigo bya Mugenyi, is the earliest evidence of organised human settlement in the African Great Lakes Region.[6]
