The Taranaki Open is an annual 72 hole golf tournament staged on the New Plymouth Golf Club's Ngamotu Links in New Zealand. Since 2004 it has been sponsored by Olex and been the flagship event of the Golf Tour of New Zealand (GTNZ) founded by former touring professional Greg Turner.

The field brings together amateur golfers (both men and women) along with professional golfers competing together for overall honours though amongst each group for prizes.

Prior to 2004 the tournament was run over two days, with 36 holes on each day.

Tournament format

  • Pro/Am Am/Am Tournament- Played on the Wednesday - A teams event where sponsors and invited guests are drawn to play with the prominent professionals and amateurs in the field.
  • Olex Taranaki Open - Played from Thursday to Sunday. The field of up to 144 players is reduced on the lowest 90 players after two rounds and 60 after three rounds.
