The International Ecotourism Society (TIES) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting ecotourism globally. Founded in 1990, the organization strongly contributes to the development of ecotourism while providing guidelines and standards, technical assistance, training, research and publications.[1] TIES' global network of ecotourism professionals and travelers aim to use tourism as a viable tool for conservation, protection of bio-cultural diversity and sustainable community development. The largest and oldest ecotourism society, TIES has members in more than 190 countries.[2]
