Chumps on Parade is the second studio album by American ska punk band MU330, released on Dill Records in 1996 and subsequently re-issued by Asian Man Records in 1997.
Overview
In contrast to the band's 2 Tone-influenced debut album, Chumps on Parade incorporates stronger elements of hard, guitar-driven punk rock into MU330's style of ska music, fitting with the band's self-appointed descriptor of "Psycho Ska" (or, as the Dayton Daily News described it, the sound of "a high school basketball pep band gone berserk"[1]). According to MU330's website, Chumps on Parade was recorded in the house of album producer/mixer/engineer David Probst, with the drums recorded in his living room, guitar in the kitchen and vocals in the children's room.
This was the only MU330 album to feature vocalist Jason Nelson, who left to join the St. Louis ska punk band Orange Tree in 1997, as well as the only album to feature saxophonist Traygen Bilsland. In support of the album, MU330 embarked on two national tours with Skankin' Pickle and Slapstick.
