W. W. Winter
Appearance
W. W. Winter is a Derby-based photography studio, and is the "longest running photography business in Britain".[1]
The origins of the business have been traced back to 1852.[2]
The studio in Derby's Midland Road was built in 1867 by Walter William Winter.[3]
In 2014, they had a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) grant of £51,800 to begin preserving and cataloguing their glass negative photographs.[4]
They moved to their current studio in Midland Road in 1867, and celebrated 150 years in the same premises in 2017, with an exhibition at Derby's Museum and Art Gallery.[5]
