Rhinopias cea, or Cea's scorpionfish, is a species of scorpionfish known only from Easter Island. This species grows to a length of 20.2 centimetres (8.0 in).[1] This species is only known from the holotype found at Easter Island on the rocky bottom 5 metres (16 ft) below the surface.[2] This holotype was caught by hand in February 1985.[2] The species Rhinopias cea was named in honour of Dr. Alfredo Cea Egaña, to recognize his contribution to the knowledge of the fishes of Easter Island.[2] Rhinopias cea are brownish orange-red in colour with blotches of dark brown.[2]
