Carl von Thieme (born April 30 1844, Erfurt – died October 10 1924, Munich) was a German banker.

His father was the director of German company Thuringia. In 1880, he founded together with Wilhelm von Finck and Theodor von Cramer-Klett German company Munich Re and was co-founder of Allianz AG, a financial services company.[1] Until 1922 Thieme was general director of Munich Re.
