George Johnston McElwee (21 May 1879 – ?) was an Australian politician. He was born in Launceston, Tasmania. In 1940 he was elected to the Tasmanian Legislative Council as the Labor candidate to represent Launceston, beating the elderly Independent Frank Hart. He held the seat until his defeat in 1946.[1]
