Hermanus Koekkoek (1815 – 1882), was a 19th-century painter from the Northern Netherlands.

Biography

He was born in Middelburg as the son of Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek.[1] He was the brother of Barend Cornelis, Marinus Adrianus and Johannes.[1] He became the father of Hermanus the Younger, Willem, Johannes Hermanus Barend, and Barend Hendrik.[1]

Like his father and brothers, he is known for landscapes and seascapes and taught his sons to paint in the family tradition. He died in Haarlem.[1]
