The license plates in Ivory Coast are made with European Standard sizes. These plates are unique because of their color scheme and the location of its identifier band. The plate is white on blue and the identifier is located on the right with the colour scheme of white on orange with the outline of the country on its top and the letter CI standing for Côte d'Ivoire on the bottom. The plate consists of four digits following by two letters which increase sequentially and at the end there are two digits which indicate the origination of the plate.

Diplomatic Plates

The diplomatic plates are black on orange with 3 digits, following CD standing for corps diplomatique, MD for mission diplomatique or CMD chef du mission diplomatique followed by 2 digits (1 for CMD series).

These plates are white on green with the same type of identifier as private cars. They have the letter IT for Immatriculation temporaire.
