Wallace Aaron Battle (1872 – 1946) was an educational leader for African Americans in the Southern United States. He grew up on a cotton farm in Alabama with the other 12 children of Augustus and Jeanetta Battle, freed slaves.[1] Battle graduated from Berea College in 1901. He helped found Okolona College in 1902. The diary he kept provides a source for his life's work.[2]
