Luc Steels
Appearance
Luc Steels (born 1952) is a Belgian scientist and artist, and Director of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He also founded the Sony Computer Science Laboratory in Paris and was a visiting researcher at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. Steels is considered a pioneer in Artificial Intelligence who has made important contributions to expert systems, behaviour-based robotics (a term which he coined), artificial life and evolutionary linguistics.
