"March of the Meanies" is an instrumental orchestral piece conducted and composed by the Beatles' producer George Martin for the Yellow Submarine film and was the fifth track on the orchestral second side of the film's soundtrack album by the Beatles, released in 1969. The song was recorded by a 41-piece orchestra at Abbey Road Studios on 22–23 October 1968. The melody is built on an insistent rhythm, driven initially by a marimba, over which strings and brass are given strident melodic passages.[1]
